Leaflapse Privacy Policy

Leaflapse creates plant photo albums and time-lapse videos using an iPhone camera. This version has no advertising, analytics SDK, location access, microphone recording, or separate Leaflapse account.

What stays on your camera device

The camera iPhone stores original plant photos, album names, capture settings, timestamps and upload receipts in the app's local storage. Camera permission is used to capture the photos you schedule. You can revoke it in iOS Settings. Device backups may include app data depending on your Apple backup settings.

Optional iCloud connection

When you connect iCloud, Leaflapse sends compressed review photos, album names, capture timestamps, capture status, photo counts and last check-in times to the app's private CloudKit database in your iCloud account. These allow other devices signed in to the same account, and viewers you explicitly invite, to show your garden and export time-lapses. The app stores an opaque CloudKit account identifier locally to prevent accidental syncing after an account change. It does not send this identifier to a Leaflapse server.

Private CloudKit records belong to your iCloud account and use your iCloud storage. The app does not use a public CloudKit database. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy. The app developer does not receive copies through a separate server.

You can disconnect iCloud in Leaflapse on each device. A transfer already in progress may finish. Disconnecting stops future sync from that device; it does not delete previously synced photos.

Invited camera viewers

The camera owner can invite people on other Apple Accounts through Apple’s sharing interface. Invitations give read-only access to that camera’s existing albums and future photos. Invited viewers can review photos and export videos. A viewer may join multiple cameras, and a camera may have multiple viewers. The owner can manage or revoke access through Invite or manage viewers. Revoking access prevents future cloud access, but cannot recall copies a viewer has already cached, exported or shared. Sharing uses CloudKit’s shared database; it does not publish your garden in a public database.

Sharing and exporting

Time-lapse videos are created on the device. If you choose to share a video, the service or person selected in the iOS share sheet receives it and handles it under their own practices. Leaflapse does not automatically post or email your photos or videos.

Retention and deletion

Original photos stay until you remove them through Files or delete the app. Pause recording and disconnect sync before removing local files. Removing the app also removes its local storage; it does not necessarily delete existing iCloud records. Manage cloud data through Apple's iCloud storage settings. Dashboard review copies are cached locally and may be removed by iOS. Exported copies you save or share are managed separately by their destination.
