How do the camera and dashboard connect?
Install Leaflapse on both iPhones. Choose Garden camera on the mounted device and Dashboard on your everyday phone. Connect both with the same Apple/iCloud account. Review photos and camera status sync through private iCloud storage, so the dashboard can work away from home. To include someone on another Apple Account, use Viewers on the camera or Invite or manage viewers on the owner’s dashboard. They must install Leaflapse first, then open your camera invitation. Viewer access covers all albums and future photos from that camera.
Can I lock the camera iPhone?
Keep Leaflapse open on the camera phone. Use Screensaver instead of the lock button: a small leaf moves across a black screen, and the display pulses green after a photo is saved. iOS does not allow ordinary camera capture while the app is in the background. After a restart, open Leaflapse and resume recording.
What if the camera loses its connection?
The camera keeps original photos on the device and retries uploads when the connection returns. The dashboard shows the last check-in time so you can tell when its information may be out of date.
Where are my original photos?
On the camera iPhone, open Files → On My iPhone → Leaflapse → Sequences. Pause recording before moving files. iCloud sync uses smaller review copies; full-size originals remain on the camera phone.
How should I set up a long recording?
Secure the phone in portrait, connect power, and keep it away from watering spray and direct grow-light heat. Start with a photo every 10 minutes. New albums capture all day by default. Use Capture settings to change the interval or limit capture to hours that match your grow-light timer, even while recording. Check the camera regularly. Capture pauses when iOS reports serious heat.
How do I stop syncing or remove my data?
Disconnect iCloud in Leaflapse on each device to stop future sync. Previously synced files remain in iCloud until you remove them through Apple’s storage controls. Local photos can be managed in Files or removed by deleting the app. See the privacy policy for details.
